Brian Wotring joined Colonial River with extensive experience in the financial industry and in law. Prior to becoming a Wealth Advisor, Brian received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia and practiced law for seven years. After graduating, he clerked for the Honorable Charles S. Russell of the Virginia Supreme Court and practiced business litigation in Virginia and Washington DC. Prior to practicing law, Brian was a Financial Specialist in the United States Army where he was a member of a three-person team responsible for the security and movement of all U.S. currency in the Iraq theatre of operations.
Brian listens to and addresses a client’s financial goals and builds strategies that adapt to the client’s many life changes. Fundamentally, he helps clients pursue growth and wealth preservation. His experience in both financial advising and law brings extensive knowledge to our Colonial River family.
Brian and his wife, Stacey, have three children. When he is not assisting clients with their financial goals, he enjoys attending his kids’ many activities which include running track, cheerleading, and baseball. Brian is also an avid photographer and was awarded the International Photography Association’s 2021 Non-Professional Event Photographer of the Year.
